The V-Seal
V-Seals are best suited for critical, low leakage applications and they’re ideal for many uses formerly reserved for E-Seals, such as liquid-gas rocket motors that require zero leakage.

With its carefully controlled wall thickness, our highly engineered V-Seal maximizes spring-back and sealing contact force. It’s precision machined or roll-formed, then coated with a smooth, tightly adhering, defect-free soft plating. If you need a low-seating, low bolt load profile to seal against soft metals like aluminum, we’ll custom-design a V-Seal just for your application.

When its flat-lapped faces are deflected at installation, the V-Seal presents knife edges to the sealing surfaces of the mating cavity components. You’ll achieve excellent sealing results with surface finishes of 16 micro inches (0.4 microns) or better. Add the optional integral limiter plate for easy assembly that accommodates large or multiple stack-up tolerances and small cyclic movements.

V-Seals:

• resist corrosion.
• accommodate coatings and plating for improved performance
   in high pressure liquid and gas applications.
• work in temperatures ranging from cryogenic to 1350 F, and
   at pressures over 36,000 psi.
• work well for turbine engine case joints, duct-to-case flanges,
   hydraulic and pneumatic fittings, oil drilling equipment, vacuum
   components and systems, and cryogenic components and systems.
